How to Blow Up a Slip and Slide Safely and Easily

Congrats on Your New Inflatable Slip and Slide!

Bladder System An inflatable slip and slide provides countless hours of fun for the whole family. But before you can start splish-splashing your way toward a memorable summertime experience, you first need to inflate it. So let’s take a few moments to learn how to blow up a slip and slide correctly, shall we?

Like any vinyl crossover or commercial inflatable, your new inflatable slip and slide will be inflated using an air blower (also known as an air mover). We’ll explain how to attach it here in a moment.

If you bought your inflatable slip and slide from Pogo Bounce House, you should already have an inflatable blower. We include blowers with all of our inflatables. Otherwise, you’ll need to buy one. We have a helpful guide on choosing the right inflatable blower, or you can just give us a call at 716-566-5806 and we’ll be glad to help you out if you prefer.

You’re also going to need some stakes to anchor your inflatable properly. We also suggest having a tarp large enough to cover the full ground beneath your slip and slide. Preferably with some space to spare on all four sides. Our inflatables include hook stakes, but tarps are sold separately.

How to Blow Up a Slip and Slide Correctly

Your inflatable slip and slide should be set up someplace flat and completely clear of debris. Never set up inflatables near trees or power lines. And if there’s any risk of hitting utility lines, you’ll need to get the utility company to mark areas that are unsafe.

Once your area is prepared, roll out your inflatable slip and slide on your tarp. Next, connect a garden hose to the water bladder system, as shown in this image. Be sure to use the hose loops so the garden hose remains secure. Don’t turn on the water until the slip and slide is fully inflated!

Now that we’re ready, it’s time to learn how to blow up a slip and slide. Locate the inflation tubes on your slip and slide and set your air mover near it. Only large inflatables will need more than one inflation tube at a time, so just pick whichever one is most convenient based on where your blower is located. Make sure your power cable reaches and has ample slack before you start inflating.

Once the blower is securely attached to your inflatable slip and slide, and your other inflation tube is closed off, go ahead and power up your blower. After it’s inflated, go around the slip and slide and hammer down your hook stakes so the bounce house is fully and safely secure.

Before anyone starts sliding, be sure to check your stakes and make sure they’re secure, and carefully inspect the full slip and slide for rips, tears, or other damage. When all of that is taken care of, you can start having fun!
